History of Barcelona Zoo
Over the years, Barcelona Zoo has transformed significantly. As they've progressively invested in research and better-adapted enclosures, adding various flora native to many animal species, facilitating the conservation of both local animals and those in danger of extinction.

One of the zoo's stars, who is still remembered today, was born in 1964, an Albino gorilla from Spanish Guinea named ‘Copito’ or Snowflake. This gorilla charmed many tourists worldwide for years until its untimely passing in 2003.

Barcelona Zoo is in in Parc de la Ciutadella,Ciutat Vella.
Once in the park's main entrance, you’d be 400 m away by foot. The park's main street leads you straight to the zoo.
Pass by Castell dels tres dragons, Hivernacle, and once you reach the roundabout with a statue, you’ve successfully made it to the zoo!

Land of Dragons
in 2010, the Zoo opened the "Land of Dragons" with innovative design elements and mist systems to ensure animal interest while educating visitors through their 3D audiovisual center. Which exhibits species from Pacific Asia as:

Built in 1985, this ‘Bird-Flying Dome’ consists of water zones such as a swamp and grassland, making it the perfect environment for many native species and their conservation.
